Another year another blog..follow my life as it takes twists and turns and I learn new things asI travel aroundtheworld... :)

It’s a small world after all :)

I love how small the world is…especially when it lets me get to see my big broskie!!

I have been overseas for about 6 months now this year. I am surrounded by some pretty great people here that have made my time fulfilling but sometimes I just miss the familiarity of home and my close friends and family. Going in to this last stretch I am really starting to feel it.

Conveniently Ryan made a visit to Slovenia for a few days!

The last time I saw Ryan was in the beginning of November and he was playing for Piacenza, Italy. If you know anything about Ryan and his history of Europe volleyball you know that his tendencies are to not stay in one place to long. This year would not prove to be any different, January he switched teams to a team in Roselare, Belgium.

His team was coincidentally playing Bled, Slovenia this week, (a team he played for last year). He was playing on Wednesday night. When I first found out that he was coming to play, we were scheduled to play a match ourselves that night in Koper, Slovenia. Which would not allow me to be able to see him.

Then with some good fortune, a week later, we received word that our match would be moved to the next day…It was meant to be!

Unfortunately Ryan’s match, which are usually played at 830, was moved to 6 pm and I had practice from 5-7 so I would not get to see him play. But I would much rather get to spend time with him than watch him play a volleyball match so it was actually a blessing in disguise.

So right after my practice I hopped in the car and headed to Ljubljana where he was staying, a quick 1 hour and 15 minute drive and we were able to go to dinner and hang out for a solid 3 hours. It felt like 10 minutes but was worth every second.

We are very close and talk daily but it was so great to be able to actually sit and share laughs with him for a few short hours. Life continues to baffle me how our lives continue to cross in Euro land, we have been pretty lucky these past couple of years and I hope it continues :)
