#1, National Champs, the best in Slovenia…however you say it, it just sounds GOOD! :)
A few years back I had the privelage of watching my older brother win a National Title. A day and feelings I will never forget, and now I got the chance to follow in his footsteps. It might not be quite on the same level as a Division 1 NCAA National Championship but shoot its close ;)
The opportunity to be the best at something in life is very rare and realizing this and embracing it makes you appreciate it that much more. 9 months of hard work paid off. It was one heck of a season, with about every up and down I could imagine, and to be able to step off the roller coaster at the end, is one of the best feelings ever.
This is a very special group from top to bottom and it has been a great experience for me. I have created some special bonds with these girls that I will have friendshops for life.
And the fact that we were able to win the finals in 3 Matches beating them 9 sets to 1 is an even better feeling. Our team really peaked at the right time and everyone played very solid.
At the end of the day it is all about making the Euros happy, which is a very difficult task at times, and we managed to please them very well. We are Slovenian Cup Winners and are now the Slovenian National Champions, 2 things that were not expected of this team. I couldn’t be happier :)

So now what?? Well I am a free girl! :) Lindsay and I are going to stick around Europa for a few weeks and do some traveling and really soak up all the euro ness that we can before we return to the good ol U S of A, something I am reallyyyyy looking forward to! So I do not have a final date set for my return as we try and wrap things up around here but I will be back within a few weeks!
